Conspiracy theories – are they good or bad?

We know that there are many versions of history. But this is a natural characteristic of humans. Think about an event in your family that happened in the past. Each person will have their version of that event. Maybe if they were objective, it is based on what they actually witnessed. But if they were emotionally involved, then they have skewed their memory of that event with their emotions. People became evil or good based upon the interpretation and bias of the person telling the story.

Some may have used it as a lesson for their children, warning them of what happens if you wander from the right path. Others may have used it as an example of triumph of good over evil, or suppression of the underdog. There are many interpretations of any event depending upon your point of view and the bias you want to give it. Humans love a story to get their message across.
Now there are also stories that our parents never told us. Some were to protect our innocent ears from nasty truths, some were to stop us from seeing their dark side, and others were to bias our beliefs and lead us on a path of their choosing. There are also stories they told us that were not true. Santa, the tooth fairy and easter bunny are all fictitious. They were created to bring us joy and rewards but were also used to coerce us into good behaviour.
Other stories were created to make us fearful or have false beliefs. Fear of strangers, bias against other cultures and religions, fear of authority, are just some of the lies and biases that were implanted in us when we were young. So it is only natural that mankind as a whole is full of stories, lies, biases, and versions of the “truth”. The awakening to these is called conspiracy theories.

When you first discovered Santa wasn’t real, it was a conspiracy theory until you could prove it. You may have told your friends and they were not ready to let go of the Santa story yet, so they denied it and said you were evil for saying this. Some were so into Santa, that even if you could prove it, they still continued the myth as reality. Others supported the lie as it was a lovely lie and so many children benefited from the lie, and besides, if you weren’t good, santa would not come to you.
But what if the lie is about a person causing harm? We know that families protected pedaphiles and did not disclose their activities. The victims were ignored and suppressed. The pedaphile was in a position of power and their income was needed to support the family. The mother had no other means of caring for the children. The sacrifice of one child was the price they had to pay. Or maybe they chose to ignore the accusations, or the signs that something was wrong, and opted for living in a delusion to keep the status quo. There are many reasons a person will ignore the red flags and stay in ignorance.
But as the children begin to pass through the developmental stages, they become more aware and understand the nuances of life. It is no longer black and white but has many shades of grey. Some people choose to live in black and white, it is right or wrong and this is a young soul. They are not experienced enough to handle the shades of grey. But as souls develop, they understand that life is not so simple. At first, they will be horrified by the lies, but then they learn to use the lies to their own advantage. This is where corruption begins. These are young souls that have learned to use the system for their own ambitions. They become expert liars and story tellers, creating illusions and sell these illusions to others for their own advantage.
As we develop, we realise that the lies are harmful and often covering up the trauma. They have been used to suppress, control and manipulate and we know that this is wrong. But we may not be in a position of power to change anything. We will choose to ignore the lies, to expose the lies or to support the lies. Each has consequences and we make our choice based upon our fear. What do we have to lose if we expose the lies? What is the consequence of ignoring the lies? Can we live with ourselves if we support the lies? These are the questions that every person asks themselves when they discover the lies. If you expose the lies, there is a good chance you will be discredited and perhaps your life destroyed, your reputation lost and your place in society threatened. Perhaps in extreme cases, you may be killed, or your family threatened. This has happened to whistleblowers in the past and will continue to happen to those that do not follow the rules of the Big Liars aka corporate moguls.
Maybe you can release the information anonymously. But there is a good chance that the liars will cloud the waters with a lot of counteracting lies, and the truth will be lost in the debate. You only need to see politicians do this on a daily basis. Someone releases information anonymously, the scandal hits, it is refuted, the source is questioned, and another headline is released that diverts the story elsewhere.
Your parents did this when you asked about something that made them uncomfortable. “Where did I come from?” generated replies of distraction, lies, versions of the truth, madeup stories, or technical details of science. A simple question can generate a multitude of answers based upon the timing and emotional states of the people in that event.
Why did you lie or make up stories as a child? "I didn’t want to get into trouble". "I didn’t want to upset the person". "It was easier". "It gave me what I wanted". Lying is avoidance of pain or creation of pleasure. You do it to avoid being hurt or hurting someone, or you do it to get a reward for yourself or another person.
When we analyse conspiracy theories, we need to look at the emotions behind the stories. Is the person in the conspiracy telling a lie to avoid pain or obtain a reward? In most cases, there is financial reward at the expense of others. Or a coverup to prevent loss of some kind. There is a good chance that these conspiracies are true.
But what is the interests of the person exposing the conspiracy? Are they making up a conspiracy for their own ends? Is it revenge, are they making a living out of creating conspiracies, are they suffering from hero syndrome (they thrive on saving others)? It is hard to judge who is lying and who is the innocent party, or if there are any innocent parties. A bystander is unlikely to risk their status by exposing a conspiracy. They would usually need a vested interest to justify taking the risk.
But then there are people who have sacrificed everything to tell the truth. Scientists who have walked away from careers to expose the lies in the research. Professionals who have broken from their profession to expose the lies and corruption they saw. The Big Liars make sure that they are punished, publicly if possible, or eliminated so that the claims can be negated.

Why have Julian Assange, Edward Snowden and others been hunted for making public government files exposing the terrible deeds? There is a certain amount of activity that happens in the background of society that we never know about. We are told this is to keep us safe. But this also provides a cloak that allows them to use whatever means necessary to achieve their goals.
We know that government secret agencies spy on everyone with impunity. We know that the major powers have created wars (usually using lies) in smaller countries to put in power leaders under their control. We know that foreign aid is used to bribe and coerce leaders into allowing the major powers and their lobbyists to take their resources. We suspect that they also use these countries for illegal research.
We know that governments are owned by major corporations. We know that these lobbyists use the governments to expand their business within the country and in other countries. We know that the government turns a blind eye to their use and abuse of people and environments in these other countries. These include stripping of resources, slavery labour conditions, destruction of environment, creation of famines, genocide, displacement of locals, use of mercenaries and illegal means to achieve their own ends.
We know that the governments turn a blind eye and even regulates in favour of these lobbyists to allow them to practice with unfair advantage in their own country at the expense of the people, the environment and the future of humanity. The government does this to allow themselves short term power and control, making their own wealth whilst they can. Some may think it is a fair tradeoff – stable economy, employment, funds to put into education, health and infrastructure. Every leader has had to sit down and weigh up the pros and cons of playing the game of the lobbyists. Maybe they even believed in the beginning that they could neutralise the lobbyist. But the media sways public opinion, and a career is made or lost at the whim of the media. Who owns the media?

The lobbyist has so much economic power that they can bankrupt a government by moving its business elsewhere. We see governments compete for business by lowering taxes and deregulating to attract corporate partners. Governments are dependent upon levels of employment and taxes. They thrive when there is high employment and flounder when there is low employment. The corporates know this and manipulate them accordingly. Governments are vulnerable to coercion and manipulation from the economic moguls, and globalisation has made this worse.
Every now and then in history, we have overflowed into a rebellion to fight against the corruption. Mankind cannot help himself from using his power to take what he wants, with disregard for harm to others in the process. They even have a name for it - collateral damage. The Constitution favours landholders, corporations and the elite, especially males. But that is only one side of mankind. The other side is the compassion, kindness and respect that wants everyone to feel safe. That side wrote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In each of us, we fight the urge to play on our dark side. This is the path to quick rewards. But then we have to face our conscience, our inner self that says that humanity has no future if we live on the dark side.

Conspiracy theories are a mixed bag. Some are exposures of the corruption and lies. Some are made up to distort the picture. Some are too confronting to bear. Our emotions are aroused when we are told that we have been lied to, duped, used and abused at the whim of another. We become angry, rebellious, disillusioned, afraid, sad. Each person will react a different way. Some will become activitists. Others will fall into depression or anxiety. When your reference system is shattered, it is hard to refocus and balance. You need to find a new belief system, and so new groups of extremists form. They have a set agenda, simple and clear. It is something to believe in and focus on because the rest of the world is in chaos. They attract the lost, the naïve and the vulnerable, and condition them into actions that the person would not have been capable of beforehand.
When our world is turned upside down, the leaders we trusted are no longer trustworthy, our belief systems undermined and shattered, our institutions corrupted, we feel lost. We go through this as teens when we realise that our parents and teachers were not the wonderful people we thought they were. When leadership sells itself as a saint, and then is found out to be only human with clay feet, the followers are shattered. We trusted them, and they failed us. This is the progression of understanding into adulthood. We know that people lie. We know they will work in their own interests. But we take precautions and measures to make sure they do not dupe us. We learn to read people, to test them before we trust them.
Leadership has kept people in childhood. They promise to provide security and look after you if you just trust them. Their policies and marketing is based on “trust me and you will have everything you want”. Their regulations and court systems are based on punishment and reward. People are not allowed to move outside of the norm without being punished, ostracised, or branded as something wrong with them. A strict set of criteria is established as the measure of success and worth. If you work outside of this, you are labelled. New cultures coming into the society are forced to conform. Tolerance of differences is low as these are seen as a threat.
The real conspiracy is the fear that has been created to keep you controlled, to keep you in childlike ignorance. When you step into adulthood and use its cynicism in your assessment of the world, you realise that there are many sources of information and each has its own agenda. You listen to all and find a pattern, reading between the lines for the real story. You look for the agenda behind the story rather than the story at its face value. You then walk to the beat of your own drum, ignoring all the external pressures to conform. You know that fear and harm is destructive, and love and authenticity is creative. You choose your own path, independent of what is going on around you.
Do you want to be an activist and fight for the environment? Do you want to be a leader and fight against the corruption and abuse of power? Do you want to help people heal from their trauma? Do you want to be a teacher bringing the light to the world? Conspiracy theories are an awakening process. The world is not what we thought it was. We have reached a new stage of development in society, where we need to think for ourselves and not be told what to think any longer. We need to research and not accept the first thing we are told. We need to be discerning and find the truth speakers, not the fake news propagandists. We need to call out the people who are harming others with their lies, corruption and misdeeds.
If you get lost in the conspiracy theories, fall into fear and react by locking down your ideas, you are still a young soul and not ready to progress into the new world. You can choose to evolve and learn from this if you want. But to move forward, you need to let go of the fear, and use love as your guide. If I loved this person, how would I behave? Would I go to war, would I harm them, would I lie about them? Of course not, I would want them to feel safe, and have a good future.
We need to use the conspiracy theories as an opening of the mind. Some we may accept, others we may question, others sound unreal. If my mind is open, I can see people without bias. Refugees become someone like me who needs help. War becomes a means of one egotist taking more than they deserve. If we look at each other with love, would the police harm us or protect us? Would soldiers use force to harm or protect? Would our politicians make decisions based on corruption, greed and power or on humanity's future? Would CEOs and board members make decisions based on profits and power or on protecting the planet and humanity from harm?
It is in each one of us to grow and become an evolved human, living in a place of love, equality and abundance. The conspiracy theories are testing you to see if you are ready to open your minds beyond the conditioning of the past. Are you ready to become an adult, living by your conscience and not by what you have been told to do? Are you ready to become authentic, responsible and accountable for your thoughts and actions?
Use the conspiracy theories as a source of awakening. Do not step into fear, but learn from them, start to test information for its validity. Stop accepting what you are told as the truth. Search in your inner self, your gut instincts, your intuition for what resonates as truth. Is it pure of intent or is it tainted with self-interest? Does it take mankind into a better place, or does it set us back into a swirl of drama to confuse and paralyse us?

It is time to step out of your box, to test some of this information and start to consider that there are alternatives. What you have been taught was one version, and it was tainted with self-interest. Just like you chose to listen to other ideas once you were free of your parents influences, just like you found different teachers had different opinions, just like what you learned in life did not match what you learned in the classroom, you became a more rounded and balanced person once you started to consider there were many versions of the truth, and not all of those were acceptable to you. Adulthood is about being discerning, being accountable and working with others to make this a wonderful place to live.
Many adults have not reached the maturity of adulthood, and they live in a place of fear, competition and survival. Conspiracy theories are exposing how widespread this lack of maturity is in society. People have grown up and taken on roles of power, but without the maturity to understand that there are consequences to their actions. These consequences are destroying the planet we live on, the mental and physical health of humans, and the ability of humanity to have a future.
Use the conspiracy theories to understand what has happened and to counteract this. You will not enhance humanity by getting lost in conspiracy theories and falling into fear, anger or sadness. Use them to take back your power. The maturity of adulthood is about making sure we do not cause harm to others, stopping harm whenever we see it, and teaching others to not cause harm. It is about guiding and mentoring those who have not reached maturity yet.
The world we are creating is based on mature adults being accountable and responsible and acting from love. First you need to become this yourself, so then you can help others evolve.
