Physical Wellbeing

Our body is made up of cells that are constantly dying and being replaced.  Each cell serves a purpose specific to that part of the body where it exists.  As children we were taught that we need the five food groups to be healthy.  But even when we eat well, we are not always healthy.  What can go wrong and what can we do to be healthy?

Awakening - the food we eat is making us sick.  The commerical food industry is harming us.  Our environment is being depleted of healthy food sources.  Our children are growing up starved of healthy nutrients and full of toxic chemicals - this is causing depression, obesity and cancers.  Our poor diets are worth trillions in revenue to the health and pharmacy industries.  The same companies that strip our food of nutrition make the drugs that treat our illnesses.  The food we are sold makes us addicted and we crave more.

Gut Microbiome

There are millions of bacteria in your gut that serve a purpose.  If we kill them with antibiotics or alcohol, we loose our gut health.  Irritable bowel, bloating, and food intolerances  are signs of poor gut health.  This can lead to leaky gut, which causes autoimmune disease.
Your gut is one of the most important organs in your body as it provides the nutrition that your body needs.  If it is malfunctioning, you cannot be healthy.
Zach Bush is one of the leading experts on Microbiomes and how we need them for our body to function properly.

Eat Plant-Based Foods with Fibre

This is the natural diet of early man and kept us the most healthy.  Processed food is a major causes of health problems as it contains all the wrong things and very few of the right things.
Commercial production of our foods uses chemicals and genetic engineering to increase yield and extend storage time. The chemicals used in production kill off the natural biosystem that nourished the plants.  Our commercial food is lacking nutritional value and the chemicals are toxic to us.
A healthy diet is organically grown fruit and vegetables that contain fibre and are not processed.  The Mediterranean Diet is the one recommended by most.  The Farmers Markets should be your grocery store.
Many people suffer from unhealthy gut and don't know why.  They don't realise it is the food thay are eating that is destroying their gut. They don't realise that this is the basis of their poor physical and mental health.

Avoid Processed Foods

These are our enemy.  They are full of sugar and chemicals and have little nutritional value.  They are the cause of the obesity epidemic, heart disease, diabetes and many cancers.

Changing your diet to natural organically grown foods can reverse your health problems.

Intermittent fasting is also good for reducing weight and kick starting healthy metabolism.

Organically produced meat is healthy in small quantities.

Dr Pradip Jamnadas is a Cardiologist that treats his patients with diet and intermittent fasting and weans them off medication as their heart condition reverses and their health improves.  Se more about him in Resouces.

Processed foods can dramatically change your health outcomes and the food industry know this and don't care.

Hormones

Our body is regulated by hormones.  Poor diet and stress are two factors that can send these hormones out of balance.  They then override your brain and send faulty messages, causing cravings.
When any hormone is out of balance for any reason, it sends the whole hormonal system out of balance, causing fatigue, weight gain, reproductive problems, brain fog, and can lead to chronic disease and cancers.
This is one of the most ignored and untreated root causes of illness.  Menopause is a critical time when women need to change their diets to compensate for the hormone changes.  Dr Aviva Romm specialises in hormone imbalances and correcting these through diet.

Vitamins and Minerals

Our planet was created to provide everything we needed for nutrition.  The water and soils contained all the minerals and bacteria that helped the plants form vitamins and our organic requirements.
But our water is filtered and our soils are depleted, so the food we eat lacks vitamins and minerals and is of poor organic value.
We need to take supplements to restore the balance and build up our health again.
But how do we know what supplements - the chemical producers that depleted the soil and water in the first place are also the same ones that sell the supplements on the supermarket and pharmacy shelves.
Dr Eric Berg is a nutritionist that has specialised in restoring health.  He is one of many you will find that are developing targeted supplements.
You can take expensive tests to find out what you are lacking, you can reserach to find out what your symptoms mean, or you can do trial and error.  Take the supplements and see if you improve.  Stop taking them and see if you get unwell again.  But over time if you improve your gut health and quality of your food, you should need less supplements.

Our physical and mental selves are connected and many illnesses cross into both.  To be well you also need to heal your stress.
